A practical example of how a case can move forward
Every taxpayer’s facts are different, so we do not advertise guaranteed savings. A typical engagement may begin with an IRS or California notice, followed by a review of filing compliance, balances and financial information. We then compare the resolution procedures that may fit the facts, explain the tradeoffs, and—when engaged to represent the client—help prepare the required information and communicate with the taxing agency.
This example describes a general process and is not a promise of a particular result.

Common questions about tax resolution
Can the IRS settle tax debt for less than the full amount?
An Offer in Compromise may allow qualifying taxpayers to settle for less than the full balance, but qualification depends on the taxpayer’s specific financial circumstances and IRS rules. It is not available or appropriate for every case.
What if I cannot afford to pay my IRS balance in full?
Depending on the facts, options can include an installment agreement, an Offer in Compromise, or currently-not-collectible treatment. The right approach depends on compliance status and financial information.
Can you help if I have not filed for several years?
Yes. Tax compliance is often an important part of resolution. We can help identify the required filings and organize the next steps as part of the overall case strategy.
Do you handle California tax problems too?
Yes. National Taxor assists with California tax notices and resolution matters, including issues involving the Franchise Tax Board when within the scope of our services.
Do you still prepare regular annual tax returns?
Our practice is focused on tax resolution and bookkeeping rather than routine annual tax-return preparation. Return preparation may be addressed when it is necessary as part of an active tax-resolution matter.
What bookkeeping services do you provide?
Our bookkeeping focus includes monthly bookkeeping, reconciliations, QuickBooks Online, cleanup and catch-up work, and financial reporting for small businesses.
